Much like the previous GoPro release, this year's Hero 5 edition comes with two variants, the GoPro Hero 5 Black and GoPro Hero 5 Session. Just to give a brief overview of their shared specs, both Hero 5 and Hero 5 Session versions have 4K video support at 30fps and both are water-resistant for your underwater adventure needs. As far as new features go, both Black and Session come with advanced optical image stabilization and are voice-activated via simple commands for hands-free execution.
Much like its earlier iteration, the GoPro Hero 4 Session, the GoPro Hero 5 Session is what some would call a reskin of the GoPro Hero 4 Black. However, that would not be too accurate, as the Hero 5 Session offers 10MP more in terms of image quality, although it does provide users with a classic GoPro look and feel. And you can get this at a significantly cheaper price margin, so prospective buyers can compromise on the Hero 5 Session, if they feel the Black variant is too pricey.
On the other hand, the GoPro Hero 5 Black gives you more bang for your buck in more ways than one, which justifies its higher price margin. First, it now comes with a 2-inch LCD display, which breaks the “blind shooting” tradition started by earlier flagships. Next, it’s far more powerful both in image quality and shooting capability, offering more features and greater performance. It also comes with GPS capability so you can geotag your videos and pictures automatically.
In case you didn’t catch it earlier, both the GoPro Hero 5 Black and Hero 5 Session are now available for pre-order at Mobicity. You can place an order through our pre-order page here! Get yours today and stay ahead of everyone else. You won’t regret it.
